I am a avid hiker and I need accurate information when I am in the middle of nowhere,

I have had three different bad reading that had me turn around on hikes because I thought my blood sugar was too low. But when I got home and tested my blood with a pick I found out that my blood sugar level was high. I had people give me cookies and a candy bar to help raise my sugar not knowing it was ok but but the snacks put my sugar level up and yet my Dexcom G7 still showed my sugar level low.

User's recommendation: Try a different brand. I asked to have my receiver replaced but was told if it turns on then it’s okay.

Resolved: Poor service

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I contacted and left a message for a district customer service rep who then contacted tech support.

Tech support returned my call and helped me get the unit back online along with the app. Because of the delay I lost the use of a sensor so Dexcom sent me a replacement for free.

Original review Feb 23, 2024
I really like the Dexcom unit itself and I find it reliable and useful. However, if you need help, you can basically forget it. The customer service individuals lack knowledge and ask inane questions to divert from helping you. And that is once you get through all the garbage to finally get connected. I would use a different brand if the company offered good customer service.

The overpatches are too difficult to use. Using one hand makes their use practically impossible to use. Twice the patch touched the sensor and pulled them off!!

The overpatches don't work with one hand. Twice they have touched the sensor and pulled them off. I quit using them.

They are reviewing my replacement of failed sensors

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They told me my replacement of failed sensor is under review. I have had to have replacement of sensor every few weeks. I can not help if they fail. I either lose them because sweating to much or accidentally bump them. I have to pay for thirty day supply. I get discount but when on medicare, it is still expensive.

My sensors will be delivered a day late. So I contacted Dexcom and they refused Senser replacement. They ask all these questions like I was being interragated.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Update is now working

Original review Nov 26, 2023
I just purchased a new Iwatch (as my old one was malfunctioning) however extremely frustrated as Dexcom is not compatible with the newer iOS watch devices! Diabetes is tough to live with and the ability to look at numbers subtly on Iwatch is a huge benefit. When will Dexcom update to be used on ultra?

Bad sensor

I put a new sensor in last night like i do every 10 days. Made sure area was clean and dry. Waited the 2 hours for warm up to finish. The area i put sensor in which ive put there dozens of times before was really painful and was bleeding. After the 2 hours was up my phone kept going off for low sugar like really low. I tested my blood the old way just to make sure. My reading came back to 167. After 4 hrs i took the sensor out cause there was no change into it reading low sugar. When i pulled it out it left a small bump and i was bleeding from it. This has never happened before so im thinking that sensor was bad. Is there anyway of sending me a replacement sensor. If not ill be short a sensor for this month. Thanks Tory

I am very tired of the run around given to me by the customer service agents, and they are called Technical Service, but should be called Customer Control.

When problems arose with the sensors and overpatches for the sensors, I spoke with the technical support agents. They didn't know much about why I would need a new overpatch when it wrinkled on application (dosen't hold the sensor in place), and why I needed a quick replacement for both the sensor and the overpatch. I get three units per month from the VA, with no spares at all. The district manager did send me an envelope with G6 overpatches, but it arrived after the VA saw the need and gave me the next month's sensors. I did order a package of G7 overpatches online and they work as well as the originals. On the 1st of January, my sensor died and I again replaced it with a G7 sensor per instructions, but while the sensor and the receiver paired, the sensor failed almost immediately. I called the technical support and the supervisor again. I was again told that the product would be given overnight priority, and I would be given an email by the 2nd, but it evidently was not given to the shipping department. I called today about the missing email, and was told there was nothing in the system showing one (again). In other words it was going out in a week or so from my call. I again asked to priority in shipping, and was again promised an overnight priority. There also was no promised delivery date. They use FedEx for all but the delivery, which is made from the local USPS facility. It takes USPS a day or so more to recieve and deliver the package, another unnecessary delay. Still, the technical support agent had no idea when the sensor would be dispatched. I asked him to continue with the priority request and to have a supervisor call me. He said there would be some delay in that. He was right. It has been three hours, and no call. I may go back to my glucometer and stop the frustration of dealing with such an obstreferous company.

User's recommendation: Be aware that the employees you speak with are using scripts and do not understand the performance of the sensors and the receiver. Or why, it we are using the system, we need them back ASAP.

I believe that my receiver is bad. I was told if it turns on then it is fine, Today was my third incorrect reading. I ended up turning around on a hike because that damn stupid alarm keeps going off. At night I put the receiver and my phone in the garage so the alarm wont keep waking us up. Today my receiver was off by more than 100 points and it starting to scare me. I really think the receiver is bad.

Replacement sensor

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was on the phone for 2 hours this morning to get a replacement sensor. I was sent back-and-forth to my supplier and dexcom. I live in San Diego and I'm at the Dexcon headquarters where they could give me a sensor. I am out of sensors and nobody can seem to do anything to help me. They want an order # but no one has it. What a horrible way to conduct business. All security and NO HELP!

Pushing bad technolgy

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Oh Dexcom wants you to think the new DexcomG7 is the best since sliced bread but sadly the device is incompatible with ALL EXISTING TECHNOLOGY. Dexcom is in high gear pushing customers to upgrade but it's only to fatten their bank accounts as the G7 doesn't do what the G6 did. Dexcom put out advanced technology far beyond the present field of pumps and CGMs and as such G7 doesn't work with ANYTHING! BE WARY of upgrading as you will upend your diabetes therapy by authorizing the upgrade to an inferior technology which doesn't play at all with other devices. Shame Dexcom, shame! You should have developed a good system complete rather than something half as.

Graphics suck. Nowhere near the quality graphics of Libre 3 but next com works a *** of a lot better than Libre 3 in each application and it’s ease of use. They need to widen the window of view

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Your graphics just are terrible. First they need to widen the view so youre not looking from 0 to 1,000,000 but from 80-200. Plus, I could put a little pizzazz in the graphics. But Ive got Tell the applications is great easy to install works a heck of a lot better than Libre 3 even though its four days shorter and $10 more. They just got a fix the presentation its not very good
